Valentine's Day

It's been pretty uneventful here since the last post--which is always a good thing! We had a lovely Valentine's Day. Christian picked up a yummy breakfast from Rick's then we headed to the Arkansas/UK game. As you can see from the picture below, Hadleigh was calling the Hogs with everyone else, but she was secretly sporting her Kentucky Blue bloomers. It was fun to see our two favorite teams play...well one team played and the other stood by and watched one guy dominate! Hadleigh and Scarlett spent Valentine's night together making cupcakes and staying up really late playing off all the sugar they consumed while the adults hit Dickson Street for a delicious dinner.
I can't believe Hadleigh is almost 18 months old. Lately she has been a big help around the house. She will carry a rag around and clean up all the milk that she spills (which is a ton). She's really pretty good at putting things back in the drawers or basket after she's dumped everything out and she especially loves to throw things away. We almost lost some Tupperware to the trash tonight as she mistakenly took the trash for the sink...she did realize her mistake and proudly dug it out. She loves shoes and insists on carrying them all over the house. Thankfully though she has just as much fun carrying them back to the closet and placing them perfectly back where she found them (that's better than I do). We haven't made much progress in the potty department, but we haven't been trying too hard. She does recognize when she needs a clean diaper now and will answer 'yes' if she is dirty. She just recently learned the answer to "what's your name?". She calls herself Hadee and will kiss Hadee in the mirror--so cute! This week she started in her new class at preschool. Tomorrow will be the first day that she is expected to take a nap on a cot and not in a crib--we'll see how that goes.

Proofs

Hadleigh's proofs are done. You can see a few of her photos on this blog.
For those who may want to order some (Grandparents), you can go here to see all the proofs. The password is Hadleigh. Enjoy!

Ice Ice Baby....GIRL

In case you couldn't tell by the title, in the midst of the worst ice storm in NWA history, we found out we are having another girl. We couldn't be more thrilled! I would have posted the news sooner, but we are still lacking cable/phone/internet due to the ice. We were very fortunate to have only lost electricity for 1 night and enjoyed some quality family time camping in front of the fireplace. Our friends were without power until Saturday, so they moved in with us for the week which was a blast. Hadleigh got used to having Scarlett (and Jake) around 24/7 and was a bit confused yesterday when she woke up and wasn't greeted by them. The girls had so much fun playing together and it was really nice having them entertain each other while we were cooped up indoors.
As for damage, there are some perks to having a lot with no trees. We literally have one branch (well, you could call it a stick) down, so we are very lucky. The rest of the town looks like a tornado hit. It's going to be a while before Fayetteville looks "normal" again. I'm just hoping the cable company gets their act together soon...I don't think I can stand missing another week of The Real Housewives of OC (pathetic--I know)!

One of our few trees weighted down by the ice
"Isn't there anything good to eat around here?"
Good friends, Good fun!

Even Jake and Daisy had fun playing together.
