Let it Snow

Just a few pictures of the snow. Hadleigh didn't know what to think of it and we didn't keep her out long enough to really figure it out. Daisy and Christian had a great time though running around in it and throwing snow balls (well, Christian did).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday, Daisy! Today is Daisy's 6th birthday. She has grown up a lot over the past 6 years, but is still a puppy at heart. We have loved almost every minute with her and have many wonderful memories with her. In her 6 years, she has been to 13 different states, survived several chocolate overdoses, consumed thousands of Scooby-Snacks yet still maintained her 7lb figure, had a face to face encounter with a large cow (and survived), and most recently has become a wonderful companion to Hadleigh. We are so glad we have such a wonderful dog.

Art time

We are finally back and almost 100% health wise. Hadleigh is all better, but I'm still getting over the cold she passed along to me. I'm so happy she's learned to share already! Today is our first snow day here, which really doesn't mean much when you don't have to work or go to school, but it's still fun to see all the closings on tv. It snowed a little this morning, but the bulk of it is expected this afternoon. So before it got too bad, we went out to Different Strokes to paint some pottery with Casey and Scarlett. Hadleigh made a handprint on a tile...not sure how great it will turn out, but oh well. I also made a plaque to hang in her room. Thank goodness for stencils because I can't even paint a circle by myself. Hopefully at least one piece will turn out decent. Stay tuned for the final outcomes... Both girls needed naps by the time we were done, so we headed home and are now watching the snow come down. Can't wait until Hadleigh is old enough to go sledding!
On a different note, Christian went to the Van Halen concert last night in Little Rock. He said it was "freakin' amazing" for anyone contemplating going. I'm so glad he got to go and even more happy that he has friends that would re-live the 80's with him so I didn't have to!

Under the weather

Hadleigh is feeling a bit under the weather this week so we don't have any new pictures to share. Well, I just snapped this one as she is napping right now. She looks so peaceful. She seems to just have a bit of a cold/cough. No fever yet and her disposition is still good. We are praying it passes quickly and doesn't progress into anything worse.

Cereal...at last!

Tonight we attempted our first cereal feeding. The doctor said we could go on and start anytime now, but not to expect her to take too much, if any, the first week or so. Hadleigh did amazing well, though. By the end, she was opening her mouth for the spoon, and seemed to be swallowing part of each bite. Not nearly as messy as I expected. We didn't even have to change clothes afterwards!

Chilling out with her full belly...maybe she'll sleep through the night tonight...

Christmas Travels

Well, we have finally returned to Arkansas after a wonderful Christmas holiday and lots of traveling. After almost missing our flight (we forgot the stroller), we began our vacation with a quick trip back to Southern Pines, NC where we visited with some good friends before heading up to Richmond. Hadleigh made her debut in Richmond where she met lots of new friends and experienced her first Christmas. Somehow we managed to get all our gifts, luggage, stroller, car seat, ourselves, and the dog back to Arkansas...thank goodness for direct flights! We spent one very short night here before reloading the car and heading down to Dallas for a wedding. Hadleigh met more family and Christian and I really enjoyed two nights out while Hadleigh entertained the babysitters.
I had to work on New Years Eve, so we headed back north while the rest of Arkansas was heading south for the Cotton Bowl---thank goodness we didn't stay after such an embarrassing outcome. We spent last night out with friends while Hadleigh was a perfect angel for the sitters (at least that's what they tell us!). Today's agenda included football, eating, football, more good food, and football... too bad both our teams lost. Tomorrow we start back our normal routine, so hopefully Hadleigh will get back on her schedule fairly easily. It's been a very busy, but very fun couple of weeks...I need a nap!
