Step by step

We can finally and officially say we have a walker. After weeks of taking a few steps here and there, Hadleigh has worked up the courage to stay on her feet long enough to actually get somewhere! She's still a little slow, so if she wants to get somewhere in a hurry, it's back to her knees. I haven't been able to get any video of it (mainly because I don't know how) and it's hard to capture the movement in a picture, but I included one below that shows her getting started. I can't remember why she is crying in this picture, but check out all her teeth! She is close to having a full set of chompers.
Thursday we went to Baby Bookworms at the library and had so much fun. Hadleigh loved the songs and dancing, but her favorite part was digging through the bucket of books and chatting with all her classmates. She has become quite the talker these days. She is the most talkative one in her class at school according to her teachers (she obviously gets that from her dad)!
Saturday night, Christian and I went to a Gala to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. It was fun to get dressed up (we felt like we were in college again) and have a night out. Thanks to our wonderful sitter, Haley, Hadleigh also had a fun-filled evening.

More Halloween

Here are some pictures from Friday. We went trick or treating on the Square with Scarlett (the skunk) and then Christian and Hadleigh hit the neighborhood for more loot. Her favorite part though was passing out candy to the kids that came to our house (except she didn't want to let go of it most of the time!). In the spirit of the day, I did let her have a sucker but she took one lick and then gave it to Scarlett. We'll see how many more years she'll be willing to share her candy!

Our little bumble bee

We had our neighborhood Halloween party this afternoon so here are some shots of Hadleigh in her bumble bee costume. She was a little confused about the whole thing, but she did great keeping it all on, even her floppy antennas. We are working on the sound a bumble bee makes, so maybe by Friday she'll have it down.

Bourbon, tractors, and football...oh my

We spent a fun weekend in Kentucky touring the Maker's Mark Distillery, visiting family, and watching the Hogs lose another game. We stayed on my Uncle Jack's farm so Hadleigh got to experience lots of new activities. She loved riding the tractor, the Mule, but not so much the horse. She did enjoy petting the horses though and was lucky they didn't mind her sticking her finger up their noses. Christian dipping his bottles in the wax...he was a pro.
His dream job...if only they needed a taster
Mom tasting the finished product
"Please, just give me a taste!!!"
The UK dress my mom made for Hadleigh (no, she did NOT wear it to the game). We'll save it for basketball season!
Pops and Hadleigh petting the horses
Her first horseback ride...not a fan yet
Driving the John Deere with Daddy

Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins...

Hadleigh finally got to pick out her pumpkins. She loved touching and climbing on all the pumpkins and especially enjoyed eating the straw from the wagon. It was a beautiful fall day and such a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Change of Plans

Well, no pumpkins and no football. We drove around Friday looking for a pumpkin patch but were unsuccessful and wasted a beautiful day in the car. On a brighter note, as soon as I got home and opened up a magazine, I found a listing for 2 pumpkin patches nearby... if only I had read it sooner! Hopefully we'll have better luck now that we have an exact address. Following our pumpkin failure, our great plans of a bright, sunny football day went awry when we woke up to thunderstorms. We still managed to have a fun weekend despite all our wrecked plans.
Friday night Christian and I went to a party. I won't say what the theme was, but if you look at the pics below, you can probably guess. We continued the fun at home by making Hadleigh a home-made ball pit to play in. I don't think she's quite ready for the big ball pit yet (plus ours was a lot cleaner and we could see the bottom!).

These were after our search for the great pumpkin patch. You'd think she'd be sick of car seats, but she found her old one and thought it was hilarious to sit in it.

"Get me outta here!"
I'm thinking Christmas card...what do you think?

No breaking news

We haven't had a very exciting couple of weeks, hence the lack of blog entries. I snapped a few pictures here and there that I'll post below. Scarlett and Hadleigh finally got their portraits done in their matching tutus. I also made Scarlett a matching Razorback dress so we got some shots of them with their dresses as well. If I can figure out how to scan them in I'll post them because the two of them are just adorable together. I hope that they stay close friends forever so that they can look back at the photos and get a good laugh.
This weekend we are taking Hadleigh to the football game. This will be her first game up here, though she did enjoy some Hog Island tailgating last year. I'm also hoping to find a good Pumpkin Patch around here to go to this weekend. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. In other words, hopefully I'll have some good pictures to post after the weekend. Sorry for my lack of blogging (I know it is really bothering my mother!). Happy Birthday, Mom!!!
She loves to feed everybody (especially Daisy). At Hobby Lobby today she was trying to feed everyone Cheerios. I'm sure they were thrilled with the trail we left behind!
She still has cinnamon in her ear from this meal
Still hangin' on
Her ever-present "milk mouth"
She was shouting "ball, ball" to me as I shot this one. Getting ready for Saturday, I guess. Maybe Petrino will give her some game time...I bet she could out crawl all of our guys!
