Easter Part 2

We are finally home and finished with all our Easter Weekend activities. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but a good time was had by all. We started early this morning tromping through a very cold, heavy rain to get to the early service at church. Thank goodness it was crowded so it didn't take too long to warm up! After church, and a very brief nap, we headed to Devin's mom's house for a delicious lunch. Hadleigh joined Ava and the other kids in the egg hunt and then ate her weight in banana pudding...yummy! Thanks Bertrams for letting us partake in your family festivities!!!
After our bellies were full and we were all in need of a nap, we had to rally quickly and head straight to Scarlett's 2nd Birthday party. There, Hadleigh occupied herself with egg dying, cake eating, dancing, and lots of candy eating. Needless to say, we were all on a sugar-overload when we left. On the brink of a meltdown, we got home to discover all the Easter eggs that the Easter bunny had hidden last night that we never had time to hunt this morning. Hadleigh got excited over the first few, then Christian took over the hunt. The last picture sums up how she felt at the end of our exhausting weekend.
We really wish our families could have been here to join in all the fun, but we are so thankful for all our friends that made the weekend extra special. Happy Easter! Thanks Jesus for making it a special day!Look what the Easter bunny brought

Happy Birthday, Scarlett!

Easter Weekend Part 1

Since I've already taken so many pictures this weekend, and it's only Saturday, I decided to go on and post the pictures from last night and today. We started our Easter weekend dying eggs. We were amazed at how well Hadleigh did at this. I was convinced it would be such a mess, but she did great. She got so excited over her first dyed egg that she threw it down and smashed it!
This morning we had an Easter Egg Hunt with her school. Hadleigh was so excited to see all her friends and knew exactly what to do when the hunt began. She even won a prize for guessing the closest amount of jelly beans in the jar (with her dad's help). We will now be eating jelly beans until Christmas, but I'm not complaining!
Our neighbors invited us over for another egg hunt this afternoon where Hadleigh discovered her love for peppermint patties. I was beginning to wonder if she would ever take a liking to chocolate. We ended our day with a yummy pizza from Mellow Mushroom and some playtime over at Scarlett's. Hadleigh wore us out today for sure, but I hope she has enough left in her to do it all again tomorrow (I'm not sure I do)!

Ready, set, hunt...she was ready

Another weekend on the road

We've practically forgotten what it's like to spend a weekend at home. We met friends at Big Cedar for a cold, but fun, weekend. Who knew it would snow this close to April!!! I'll let the pictures sum up the weekend...At least we enjoyed the sunshine 2 out of 3 days.
Another group photo that Hadleigh is thrilled about!
Justin and Michelle with us in the Lodge
Are they all really looking at the camera!?!
So sweet holding hands
Meeting the horses
Beautiful spring flowers...before the snow
Christian was so excited to finally bring Hadleigh to Big Cedar

Big Sister Practice

Hadleigh got a trial run in being a big sister last weekend. We went to visit some friends in Magnolia who have the most beautiful 3 month old, Leighton. She is such an angel. She hardly made a peep the whole time we were there and she already sleeps all through the night. I hope our baby was taking notes from the belly! Anyways, Hadleigh did great with Leighton. She was a big help while Christian was feeding her and didn't get jealous when I held her. Let's hope this trial run was a good indicator of how she will be with her sister.

Hadleigh was in heaven playing with all the toys that were there. She had her eye on this Dora Jeep from the moment we pulled into the driveway. She couldn't quite reach the pedal by herself, but she loved tinkering with the radio.

Weekend in Tampa

Here are pictures from our fun weekend in Tampa. We saw a few basketball games, went to the zoo, swam in the pool, and pretty much just allowed Hadleigh to entertain us the rest of the time. Hadleigh is still recovering from all the activity. The plane ride home yesterday was not fun at all. She refused to sleep, but was so tired that she was not a real pleasant camper. Christian told her it was her last flight until she was in high school...we'll see how long that holds up.

Dancing in her pj's and other accessories she picked out.Touching the stingrays with Aunt K (KK as Hadleigh calls her)
Up close and personal with the giraffe
Is Pops about to feed Hadleigh to the catfish?
Daddy thought it would be a fun picture...Hadleigh not so much
Hadleigh's favorite attraction at the zoo

Two Chi O's and a future one with the owl...
...then the owl attacks. Hadleigh and I oblivious to the smack-down Kristen received by the wing of the owl. Way to upset the poor owl, K!
Another group shot where Hadleigh is screaming. Maybe she doesn't like to share the spotlight???
Ready for her first swim of the season. Come on summer!

A Day with Daddy

Here are some pictures from the weekend. We spent Saturday morning at the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. It seemed to be a big success and Hadleigh had a great time eating up all the bananas. After the walk, Christian and Hadleigh spent the afternoon together at the baseball game. FYI, Christian put together Hadleigh's outfit for the day all by himself...poor girl!
